I’ll try to answer according to my experience with bunnies ok >.<

what are the good food for them

What bunnies (well, my bunny anyway) normally need in their diet are:

  • Hay (timothy)
  • Pellets alone (contain NO NUTS/CORN)
  • Fresh, green vegetable (my bunny’s favorite veg. is Bok Choy).
  • Some vege are bad for bunnies -> click here to see the list.

You can feed them fruits too (as treats), like banana or apple but remember, fruits are high in sugar (for bunnies) and anything sweet is detrimental to the bunnies’ health if they are consumed in large amount. So try to limit those treats, like, give them 1/4 of a banana a day if you’re really health-conscious about your bunny.

how to take care of them nicely

I usually leave my bunny alone to roam my house (bunny-proofed) because some bunnies hate it when people hold them but you can stroke them on the head, they love that :) .

Also make sure your house is bunny-proofed because they tend to gnaw on your furniture and nibble on everything.

how to take care of them nicely

Like I said, you can try stroking their head :) If your bunny licks your hands, it means that it likes you.

Don’t touch their legs though, they’ll get annoyed. They’ll bite you if you annoy them… but you can try screaming, that’ll tell the bunnies “OUCH THAT HURTS!” or try to lightly pinch their back, this is like saying to them “Excuse me but I OWN THIS PLACE, not you” <- this will ((hopefully)) lessen their territorialism.

do and don’t

Dos:

  • Take care of them (obviously)
  • You may litter train them too (recommended), there are many tutorials on the internet on how to litter train your bunnies.
  • Spay/neuter your bunnies so that they’ll become less hormonal.
  • Changing their water daily
  • Feeding them moderately
  • Let them have their play time (they need the exercise too). Too much play time will make them spoiled though (like my bunny, that’s why we have to just let it roam the house *sigh*).
  • Have a big cage (big enough for the bunny to hop around and stretch its back legs.

Don’ts:

  • Hold them by the ears.
  • Letting your bunnies outdoor (they don’t have the instinct to go back home)
  • Neglecting them.
  • Forcing them to wear shirts or harness or whatever (only use harnass when necessary)
  • Exposing the bunnies to dangerous wires.
  • Letting kids play with them unsupervised.
  • Bathe the bunnies unless necessary.

Also, if you’re planning on getting more than one bunny, make sure the bunnies are female only, or male only. Bunnies tend to mate A LOT, often resulting in more than 5 litters, so in order to avoid bunnies from overrunning your house, get male only or female only bunnies. If you insist on getting male and female bunnies, then I suggest you to neuter/spay them so that they’ll be less hormonal :)

It’s recommended to adopt bunnies from your local bunny shelters (if there’s any in your country)
